Generative Bionics is an Italian deeptech company that develops humanoid robots built on what it calls Physical AI. Its team comes from the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, where it worked on the iCub research humanoid from 2004. The company launched in December 2025 with a round led by CDP Venture Capital's AI fund, with AMD Ventures, Duferco, Eni Next, RoboIT and Tether investing. Its GENE.01 humanoid, shown at CES 2026 and launched in July 2026, carries a full-body tactile skin that senses touch, temperature, proximity and force. Industrial partners include Fincantieri (welding humanoid for shipyards), Italdesign (design for manufacturing), Synapticon (actuators) and Eni (memorandum of understanding, September 2026).
