XPENG
Guangzhou smart-EV maker whose robotics subsidiary Dogotix develops the IRON humanoid
XPeng Inc. is a Guangzhou-headquartered maker of smart electric vehicles with dual primary listings on the New York Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (stock code 9868). Its robotics business sits in Dogotix Inc., a Cayman Islands company that was wholly owned by XPeng when, on 24 August 2026, it signed conditional agreements to issue new shares for an aggregate US$900 million. Outside investors led by IDG Capital, with Gaorong Ventures and with Tencent and Alibaba as strategic backers, are putting in US$600 million of that, an XPeng subsidiary US$200 million and companies of executives He Xiaopeng and Brian Gu US$100 million. XPeng's filing puts the implied post-transaction valuation of Dogotix at US$6.3 billion, a figure for the robotics unit rather than for XPeng itself. On 8 September 2026 the company commissioned automated production lines in Guangzhou for its IRON humanoid, which has 76 degrees of freedom, 21 of them in each hand, and runs on three in-house Turing AI chips. XPeng is aiming for mass production by the end of 2026 and for market launch and deliveries in China and abroad in 2027.
