Robotis was founded in March 1999 and listed on KOSDAQ on 26 October 2018 under code 108490, according to the Korea Exchange's company summary. It designs and builds its own actuators and reducers, and its DYNAMIXEL smart actuator range, from the X, Y and P series to the Q series aimed at humanoids, serves as the joints of robots built by universities, companies and Robotis itself. Its platforms include AI Worker, a two-armed semi-humanoid that learns tasks from human demonstration and refines them with reinforcement learning in simulation, the AI Sapiens humanoid, the OMX and OMY manipulators, the HX5-D20 robot hand and GAEMI indoor and outdoor delivery robots. Its 2025 annual report shows a shareholder rights offering paid in on 18 November 2025 that issued 1,349,528 new shares at KRW 155,500, raising KRW 209.85 billion earmarked for facilities and working capital. The same report lists LG Electronics as a 6.67% shareholder and founder and chief executive Kim Byung-soo as the largest shareholder with 24.1% at the end of 2025.
