Mujin was founded on 6 July 2011 and is headquartered in Koto ward, Tokyo. Its US arm is based in Suwanee, Georgia, and it has offices in Guangzhou and Eindhoven. The company's MujinOS software and Mujin controller plan robot motion and integrate robots, AGVs, storage systems, conveyors and sensors in one environment, with no-code deployment for bin picking, piece picking, palletizing, depalletizing and truck unloading in logistics and manufacturing. Mujin raised ¥12.3 billion in a Series C led by SBI Investment in September 2023, with Pegasus Tech Ventures, Accenture, James Kuffner and 7-Industries Holdings also investing, and added ¥2.7 billion from Japan Post Capital and one undisclosed investor in a December 2023 extension, taking the Series C to ¥15 billion and cumulative funding to ¥23.2 billion, the company said. On 2 December 2025 it announced a ¥36.4 billion first close of its Series D: ¥20.9 billion in equity jointly led by the NTT Group (NTT Corporation and NTT Docomo Business) and Qatar Investment Authority, with Mitsubishi HC Capital Realty and Salesforce Ventures, and ¥15.5 billion in loans from Aozora Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Mizuho Bank and other Japanese lenders. QIA stated the total as US$233 million, of which US$133 million was equity.
