Galbot
Beijing general-purpose robot company built around its own embodied foundation models, with robots already deployed in Beijing retail
Galbot was founded in 2023 and is based in Beijing, where it develops general-purpose robots with an embodied large model at the core. Its hardware line includes the Galbot G1 and S1 and the ET1, and its AstraBrain model is pitched as a single whole-body, end-to-end model that covers high-level planning, motion and low-level control. According to a June 2025 release on the Beijing international science and technology innovation centre site, the company has built GraspVLA for grasping, GroceryVLA for retail and TrackVLA for navigation, and has started deployments in Beijing shops. The same release says Galbot closed a RMB 1.1 billion round in June 2025 led by CATL and Puquan Capital, joined by Guokai Kechuang, the Beijing Robotics Industry Fund and GGV, taking its two-year total above RMB 2.4 billion. In August 2026 Galbot said it had been approved to lead a key laboratory for embodied AI large models, which it described as the only one of its kind in China.
