Fauna Robotics launched in New York City in February 2024 and unveiled Sprout on 27 January 2026: a 107 cm, 22.7 kg humanoid with 29 degrees of freedom, an NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin computer, stereo vision and time-of-flight safety sensors, sold as a Creator Edition to developers and researchers. Early customers named by the company include Disney, Boston Dynamics, UC San Diego and NYU. Co-founders are CEO Rob Cochran (formerly CTRL-labs) and CTO Josh Merel (formerly Google DeepMind). On 24 March 2026 the company said it had joined Amazon and would operate as Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company; terms were not disclosed.
