Walden Robotics is a Cambridge, Massachusetts company spun out of Toyota Research Institute in January 2026. Led by chief executive Russ Tedrake, an MIT professor and former senior vice president of large behavior models at TRI, it develops general-purpose robots driven by large behavior models and Diffusion Policy, operated with remote human assistance. It launched publicly on July 15, 2026 with a $300 million seed round at a $1.1 billion valuation and says its robots have worked in production at a Toyota plant in North America since February 2026.
