Tokyo motion-control group whose Precision Equipment Company makes RV precision reduction gears for industrial robot joints and says it holds about 60% of that global market.
Nabtesco Corporation was formed in September 2003, when Teijin Seiki and NABCO brought their businesses under a new holding company that listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange; NABCO dates back to 1925 and Teijin Seiki to 1944. The head office is in Hirakawacho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and the shares trade on the Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange under securities code 6268. The group reports Component Solutions, Transport Solutions and Accessibility Solutions segments, and precision reduction gears for industrial robots belong to Component Solutions. Its Precision Equipment Company says it holds about 60% of the global market for these gears and makes RV reducers at plants in Tsu and Hamamatsu in Japan and in Changzhou, China. In December 2025 Nabtesco added new products to its compact RVmini and Monocrank series, aiming them at collaborative and humanoid robots as well as conventional industrial robots, machine tools and semiconductor equipment. For the year ended 31 December 2025 it reported consolidated net sales of ¥307,912 million and 8,472 employees at year end, and it now classifies its hydraulic equipment business as a discontinued operation.
