About

Mentee Robotics is an Israeli company developing MenteeBot, a humanoid robot that Mobileye describes as AI-first, vertically integrated and in its third generation. It was founded by Amnon Shashua, its chairman, together with Shai Shalev-Shwartz and chief executive Lior Wolf. Mobileye agreed on 6 January 2026 to buy the company for $900 million, and its 8-K filing reports that the acquisition of Mentee Robotics Ltd. closed on 3 February 2026 for $611.9 million in cash and 26,279,824 Mobileye Class A shares. Because Shashua is also Mobileye's chief executive, he recused himself and a committee of independent directors approved the deal. Mobileye said Mentee planned proof-of-concept customer deployments in 2026, with robots meant to work autonomously without teleoperation, and series production and commercialisation in 2028.
