Dyna Robotics
Redwood City company running commercial robots on its own embodied AI foundation model, now at DYNA-2.1
Dyna Robotics, based in Redwood City, California, makes general-purpose robots driven by an embodied AI foundation model it develops itself. It was founded by chief executive Lindon Gao and York Yang, who had earlier sold Caper AI, together with Jason Ma, a former research scientist at DeepMind. Dyna began with stationary robot arms trained on single jobs such as folding laundry and preparing food, and its current flagship model, DYNA-2.1, is aimed at whole workflows in hotels, food service, warehouses and factories. The company says its robots are already deployed at customers in several industries. It raised a US$23.5 million seed round led by CRV and First Round Capital in March 2025, then a US$120 million Series A in September 2025, about a year after it was founded, led by Robostrategy, CRV and First Round Capital with NVentures, the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, Salesforce Ventures, Samsung Next and LG Technology Ventures taking part.
