SoftBank Group is a listed investment holding company built around technology holdings. It names AI chips, AI robots, AI data centres and energy as its strategic pillars. In October 2025 it agreed to buy ABB's robotics division at an enterprise value of USD 5.375 billion, a deal the European Commission cleared on 11 March 2026, and in January 2026 it led Skild AI's USD 1.4 billion Series C. It sold control of Boston Dynamics to Hyundai Motor Group in 2021.
