Dexterity
Redwood City developer of Physical AI and Mech, a two-armed mobile robot for truck loading, palletizing and other heavy warehouse work.
Dexterity, Inc. was founded in 2017 by chief executive Samir Menon together with a group of co-founding engineers and is based in Redwood City, California. Its main product is Mech, which the company calls an industrial superhumanoid: two arms on a four-wheeled base that together lift up to 130 lb, with up to 16 cameras, touch sensing and an onboard computer running its Physical AI models, launched first for truck loading. On 13 October 2021 Dexterity said it had raised $140 million in Series B equity funding and debt led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Kleiner Perkins, taking its total capitalization above $200 million at a valuation of $1.4 billion. Customers named on its website include FedEx, Maersk and Sagawa Express, and in June 2026 Kawasaki Robotics said Dexterity is scaling Mech production around Kawasaki's RL030N robot arm.
