Collaborative Robotics, which goes by Cobot, was founded in 2022 by Brad Porter, a former Amazon vice president of robotics, and is based in Santa Clara, California, with a second office in Seattle. In November 2024 it introduced Proxie, a mobile robot with a manipulator that engages cart handles, boxes and totes and is meant to work next to people, and listed Maersk, Mayo Clinic, Moderna, Owens & Minor and Tampa General Hospital among its customers. The company raised $10 million in a launch round led by Neo in June 2022 and a $30 million Series A led by Sequoia Capital in July 2023. In April 2024 it closed a $100 million Series B led by General Catalyst, which it said took total funding past $140 million in less than two years.
