Its robotics division, with 2024 revenue of USD 2.3 billion and about 7,000 employees, is being sold to SoftBank Group at an enterprise value of USD 5.375 billion; ABB keeps its Machine Automation division. The European Commission cleared the sale on 11 March 2026, and ABB expects closing in mid-to-late 2026.
